She tiptoes through time zones
dancing lightly from sea to sea
soft music, eight miles high
through miles of space she sings to me
Hemispheres like stair steps
the rivers, her thoroughfares
and each new unknown tongue
all create the wardrobe she wears
Human kaleidoscope
opens before her searching eyes
earthly merry go round
turning below her as she flies
Adventure, a new awe
where ever she chooses to roam
But like a kite in the sky
Always, she is tied to her home

We Are Star Stuff (a poem)
We Are Star Stuff (a poem)
Eternal and invincible
These particles of me
And of you
Created at the first birth pangs of the universe
We share the same energies
Binding all matter
You to me
Their ebb and flow permeating the seen and unseen
Neither created nor destroyed
Transitioning
through the ages
Recycling, Morphing, now energy, now matter,
These particles of me, and of you
Always connected
And changing
Once a bird, a tree, earth, human, light from a dying star
These particles of me, of you
From the beginning
Never ending
These parts of us, exist in the past, present and future

My pen
This pen
Smooth, as it's point glides
Like a skater across smooth ice
Now a double
Now a triple
Now leaving its graceful,
But bold
Mark across the smooth. Surface.
Smooth, smooth, smooth
What potential lies hidden
Inside the plastic cylinder?
Waiting......
Poised. Above the empty page
Through me
Through it
Making my drawing
Making my thoughts
Look so, so smooth!
Smooth, as it's point glides
Like a skater across smooth ice
Now a double
Now a triple
Now leaving its graceful,
But bold
Mark across the smooth. Surface.
Smooth, smooth, smooth
What potential lies hidden
Inside the plastic cylinder?
Waiting......
Poised. Above the empty page
Through me
Through it
Making my drawing
Making my thoughts
Look so, so smooth!

the eye doctor
She dropped white light in my eyes
One, then two drops In each eye
Open wide,
window to my soul
She shined light deep in my eyes
Apparently the soul
Cavernous
It requires careful spelunking
Everything bathed in bright light
So, is this how My soul sees?
Heaven's light, bright, nearly painful?
Soon, the halo light faded
My eyes once more Flawed,
earth tones Buffering the reality
One, then two drops In each eye
Open wide,
window to my soul
She shined light deep in my eyes
Apparently the soul
Cavernous
It requires careful spelunking
Everything bathed in bright light
So, is this how My soul sees?
Heaven's light, bright, nearly painful?
Soon, the halo light faded
My eyes once more Flawed,
earth tones Buffering the reality
he dreamed of space
he dreamed of space
He Dreamed of floating In the endless night
Bejeweled,
surrounded By gemstones of light
He dreamed of space
He Dreamed of floating In the endless night
Bejeweled,
surrounded By gemstones of light
He dreamed of space

the Knight
There she Stands
Magnificent, yet unaware
Of my yearning, my devotion
Silhouetted
Frames by a setting sun
Graceful body, shadowed in her gown
Without Knowing
She commands my feeble efforts
Intended, hopeful, to fall within her gaze
In her name
I would dare deeds so bold
Slaying dragons and armored foe
For her smile
I would risk my life and limb
So no harm might befall hers
And even death
I would embrace most gladly
If that be the cost of her kiss
My Guinevere
Destines am I to be a lowly knight
Not an Arthur, nor a bold Lancelot
For propriety
Denies my hand the touch of skin
Fate, denies the warmth of caress
Here I stand
Miserable in my devotion
Presumptuous in my desire
There she stands
magnificent, yet unaware
Of my sadness, of my pain
Magnificent, yet unaware
Of my yearning, my devotion
Silhouetted
Frames by a setting sun
Graceful body, shadowed in her gown
Without Knowing
She commands my feeble efforts
Intended, hopeful, to fall within her gaze
In her name
I would dare deeds so bold

Summer is gone (Sept 26 2010)
Summer is gone
This morning, as I jogged through cooler air
I could feel the tendrils of autumn
Nipping at my heels
A quick brush of my cheek
disguised as a cool wisp of breeze
Summer has gone
The grays and browns of autumn peer out
Slyly testing the water
Cautiously, once held at bay
Creeping in the cool shadows
By the direct rays of summer suns
Summer is done
Even the day flees the onslaught of the cold
Showing itself but sparingly
Night falls early
As the cosmos itself prepares
For Persephone’s decent
Summer is gone
And we huddle closer,
seeking The warmth of electric bonfire
And it’s creeping, evident
Green grasses rust to brown
Winds rattle leaves now gone golden
Summer is gone
This morning, as I jogged through cooler air
I could feel the tendrils of autumn
Nipping at my heels
A quick brush of my cheek
disguised as a cool wisp of breeze
Summer has gone
The grays and browns of autumn peer out
Slyly testing the water
Cautiously, once held at bay
Creeping in the cool shadows
By the direct rays of summer suns
Summer is done
